# View your file information at a glance

_As projects progress, it's essential to keep track of the documents that have been uploaded to Filestage. Knowing when and who uploaded files is essential for maintaining an accurate record of project milestones. Fortunately, it is easy to access this information and more. In addition to_ **_upload dates_**_, you can also view_ **_file versions_**_,_ **_original file names, file types_**_, and_ **_uploaded by_**_._

# See your file information from the dashboard

1.  Find the file you want to view additional information
    
2.  Click on the **three dots** and select **More information**
    
    -   Now you can see the number of versions, the original filename, the file type, by whom, and when it was uploaded.

# See your file information from the file view

1.  **Open your file**
    
2.  Go to the **version menu dropdown** and see when each version was uploaded
    
    -   Over the file view, you are only able to the **upload date.**
