# Managing your seats

Learn the difference between seats and team members, how to add or remove seats and how it effects your billing

Your plan includes a set number of seats for your team members. This allows them to manage projects, upload files, and share links with your reviewers. If you need extra seats for your team, you can add them as your team needs.

> **Info:** **Please note:** Our standard plans from March 2023 included unlimited seats. Our current plans (introduced in spring 2026) include 10 seats, and you can add more seats in packs of 5. If you are on an older plan, your seat allowance may differ. You can see your plan’s details under Subscription.

## How many seats do I have?

To see how many seats you currently have, head over to the [subscription page](https://app.filestage.io/#!/teams/subscription) of your Team Settings.

## How can I add or remove a seat?

## Billing Changes

-   If you **add a seat**, you’lll be charged for the remaining portion of the current billing period.
    
-   If you **remove a seat**, the difference between the old and new price will be prorated as a credit.

## Why can't I add more seats?

Additional seats can only be purchased on new plans (concluded **after June 9th, 2021**). If you are on an older plan, please contact us at [support@filestage.io](mailto:support@filestage.io).

## Understand the difference between seats and team members

In Filestage, your subscription is calculated based on seats. Seats are the available positions in your team that a team member can fill.

**To summarize:**

-   **Seats** \- The total number of team members you can have in a team
    
-   **Team members** \- The people you’ve invited to join your team in Filestage. They are the ones with access to manage projects, add files, and share links. You can have fewer team members than seats, but you’ll be charged for the total number of seats.
    

> **Warning:** **Please note:** Regardless of the number of seats in your subscription, you can still have unlimited Reviewers.

Make sure your plan covers everyone on your team, so no one gets stuck waiting for access and your reviews keep moving. Need more room? Add 5 extra seats anytime with an add-on.
