Solutions for uploading oversized video files to Filestage

Updated over a week ago

Uploading large video files to Filestage can be challenging if they exceed our current limit of 20GB. If you find yourself in this situation, don't worry! Here are a few things you can do to upload your video file successfully:

  • Reduce the video resolution: If you're using the video primarily for review purposes, reducing the resolution to 720p might be sufficient. This will significantly reduce the file size and make it easier to upload to Filestage.

  • Use a stronger video encoding: By using h264 video encoding, you can further reduce the file size of your video and make it easier to upload to Filestage. H264 is a popular encoding format that provides high-quality and efficient compression.

  • Break it up into shorter parts: If you have a long video, consider breaking it up into smaller parts. This will allow you to upload each part separately.

In addition to these solutions, you can also use video compression software or online tools to reduce the file size. Some popular options include Handbrake, Adobe Media Encoder, and Online-Convert.com.
