# Sort comments in a file

You can sort your comments chronologically but also according to their position in the file

-   You can sort **videos and audio files** by their timecode.
    
    -   You can sort comments in **image files** vertically (top-down) by their position in the picture.
        
    -   You’re also able to sort comments in **documents** by their page number.

### **This is how it works:**

1.  Open the desired file on your dashboard by **clicking on it.**
    
2.  Click on the **sort and filter symbol** in the commentary menu.
    
3.  You now have the possibility to select your **preferred sort criterion**.
