Project templates let you define your ideal project structure once including folders, phases, reviewers, and automations and reuse it every time you start a new project. This helps teams maintain consistency and speed up onboarding especially if you run similar review processes regularly.
Project templates act as blueprints that you can reuse whenever you create a new project. Instead of rebuilding everything from scratch you can use a template to create a ready to go project in seconds.
Project templates help you:
Save time on project setup
Ensure consistent review structures across teams
Standardize reviewer roles and permissions
Automatically include automations with every new project
Reduce setup errors and manual work
Marketing teams running recurring campaigns
Agencies managing similar client workflows
Product and legal teams with structured approval flows
And this is how you can use the feature:
Go to the Templates section in Filestage
Click Create template
Add folders and sections to define your structure
Set up reviewer groups and assign roles
Optionally add automations to the template
Save the template
When creating a new project select this template as your starting point
Once saved the template will be available for all new projects.
Templates are blueprints you select when creating a new project. Filestage copies all defined elements into the new project so you do not have to configure them again.
Folders and sections define how files are organized
Reviewer groups control who reviews and in which order
Roles and permissions define access levels
Automations run workflow actions automatically
Changes made to a template apply only to future projects not existing ones.
Filestage includes default templates to help you get started quickly. These are based on common review workflows and can be fully customized.
Default templates are useful if you want:
A fast starting point
A proven review structure
Minimal setup effort
Custom project templates allow you to tailor workflows to your exact needs.
They are especially helpful if you:
Run multiple project types
Have complex approval chains
Want to scale best practices across teams
